Next summer the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be coming to town with 10.8 million tickets on sale. With regular events such as Wimbledon and the Notting Hill Carnival and the celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, London will full to capacity and will obviously operate differently.
This will affect residents, suppliers, business owners and employees travelling around London on the transport network and the added security measures necessary to ensure the safety of the Games.
Businesses should not underestimate the impacts on employee and freight movements and there is a need to start planning now to minimise disruption and ensure your business continues to run smoothly in the run up to, and during, the Games.
Our speakers at this event will be:
Rose McArthur – Rose is part of the Travel Advice for Business team from London 2012. Travel Advice for Business aims to help you understand the impact that the Games will have on your operations and then develop solutions and actions needed to help you ‘Keep on Running’ during the Games.
Tom Wingate – Tom is an Inspector with the Olympic Policing Coordination Team within the Metropolitan Police. Safety will be paramount during the summer so it is essential that your business is prepared for the heightened security measures which will be put in place.
The purpose of this event is to help you understand the impacts for your business and help you create solutions to ensure you get the very most from the Summer of 2012.
