The University of West London (UWL) is able to offer fully funded English and Maths Functional Skills courses for those who have not previously achieved a GCSE grade C or above in these subjects. Functional Skills at level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE grade C. This will be available to members of the public to access directly, WLB members and your employees.
To be eligible for funding for these courses, candidates need to meet the below criteria, and not currently be undertaking an apprenticeship or doing another EFSA or GLA funded course.
Requirements for GLA-AEB funding:
Were aged 19 or above on 31 August 2021, and
Live in London, and
Are a resident of an EEA (European Economic Area) country, and
Have lived in an EEA country for the past 3 years

Once you have registered your interest, UWL will be in touch to confirm the next steps and to share the details of upcoming courses that you can book on to. These courses typically take place on two days or a few evenings per week, over a 4–6 week period. At the end of the course there will be an in-person exam at UWL’s St Mary’s Road campus, Ealing.
