Paints and textile powders from pigments derived from plant and food waste.
Description:

Creating pigments from plant and food waste to create paints and textile powders.

KAIKU is a material innovation startup committed building a sustainable future. KAIKU transforms agricultural waste from everyday plants, like avocados, into a high value resource – natural plant-based colorants. We’re partnering with nature to envision fashion and consumer products that don’t cost the earth. Our plant-based colorants and inks can be used with a variety of protein and cellulose-based textiles, screen-prints, and print media. This includes silk, cotton, paper, bioplastics, waxes, and soaps. Many of these applications are still in development.
