Library of Things

Library of Things
Library of Things
In brief:
Builds community by affordably renting out useful items like drills, sound systems and sewing machines, and helping neighbours share skills.

Borrowing is the new buying

Sharing the things we only use now and again cuts down on clutter, is more affordable, brings people together, and is kinder to our planet. That’s why we’re getting the nation borrowing.  Together, Crystal Palace borrowers have saved a whopping 15,900 kg of waste from going to landfill by borrowing rather than buying.

Borrow useful things by the day or week. Collect from a local kiosk in a shared space, learn skills through events or volunteering – like DIY, sewing, repair.

Library of Things is currently operating in South London and launching in more spaces across London over the next few months…
We’re growing the movement! We are actively looking for UK-based councils, housing associations and community spaces who want to kickstart and host a Library of Things.
We’re raising investment. We’re raising money from social investors committed to our mission to make borrowing better than buying. This will fund our tech development and help us grow the movement across London and beyond
