WLB is delighted to announce two new starters who take up their posts with immediate effect.
Ceara Roopchand, Policy Advisor to the CEO:
Ceara graduated from the London School of Economics with an MSc Social Policy & Development (NGOs). Her career to date has taken her through posts with Amnesty International, The Office for National Statistics and several third sector organisations in addition to opportunities to working in the US and Caribbean. This provided exposure to work in several policy areas including women’s rights, LGBT decriminalisation and mental health. More recently, she has spent the last two and a half years in the education & skills sector working as a Policy Officer for a large further education membership body. In her spare time, Ceara is an avid traveller and enjoys reading books themed on political history.
Dr. Tianqi Li, CleanTech Development Manager, Better Futures:
Tianqi Li is an award winning and internationally recognised sustainability professional with 10 years’ experience in influencing best sustainability practice by integrating life cycle thinking and SDGs. She achieved a Ph.D in “life cycle sustainability assessment of energy technologies”, where she developed the first applicable circular economy indicator for energy technologies.
Tianqi has also been a speaker at several international conferences and was part of the advisory board on HM Government’s Industrial Strategy Green Paper 2017. Recently, she has joined the expert panel for the European Commissions’ Green Product Initiative, advising the development for Environmental Footprint standards. Tianqi is a classically trained pianist from early age. She also enjoys travelling, cycling, swimming, dancing and reading; and most of all, culinary delights which have never failed to bring her happiness!
